pure ecstacy :)

words cannot even begin to cover what I've been through in the past three weeks.

to start it off, I made 37 new best friends who've seen me at my best and my worst.

they've seen me laugh, cry, and they know my biggest secrets.

37 wonderful, genuine people who have changed my life and I couldn't be luckier.

and sure, the monuments were cool, but I've had global experiences that others will never have.

I climbed a mountain in the Swiss Alps, just for fun

I've been to a street fair in Germany

I've trashed a hotel room in Italy

almost died from getting run over in 6 countries

and way more stuff than I could mention online. haha

I've gone through the biggest changes, and after this trip, I am a brand new person.

ugh, you can't come soon enough.

it seems like I haven't seen or heard from my friends in FOREVER.

hmm, maybe because it's true.

between work, homework, finals and school, there's barely time to breathe.

well that is, when I DO have a minute I pick up the phone and call derek...too bad he's NEVER home. actually he just promises to call me back and doesn't.

I need some sort of human interaction here.

I really do have quite a few options if I really wanted to hang out with someone, I just miss my bffls.

BUT, when I'm not with my friends, I'm with James, Max, Kim, Brundy, Luke, Charlie, Mario, Joel, Collin, Erin, Nick, Kim and Darlene at work, and we have the best snack bar parties :)

we scream, laugh and throw stuff at each other.

I'm basically the only girl EVER on shift, so I act like the mother figure and cook for all the boys with appetites the size of Arkansas :)

I think the snack bar violates some health codes and it's my biggest pet peve, so I'm ALWAYS cleaning it. haha.

we get so busy, we run out of food.

and we have to do our own math at the register....ha.

we can eat anything we want-for FREE :)

and I get paid for having an awesome time every day!

btw- paycheck on Friday!

and when Kim cancels a game or calls us off, we still get paid for those hours!

seriously...best job IN THE WORLD.

You know, it's funny how every time I get "inspired" to make a blog, I lose interest within a couple of weeks. I'm trying to make an effort sharing stuff, but only visit this when I'm unoccupied like right now. Blogs are pointless really. eh. I don't care. :)

15 glorious days left and counting :) It's cram time in most of my classes, and it's pretty noticable. I come home every night with tons of homework and stupid assignments that aren't even relevant to the class, but what are you gonna do? :P I have 0/100 questions done on my Earth Science project. It will be the death of me. Why is Mrs. Glor such a terrible person? anyways...last week at this time I was at work, which I love!, and I had just taken the World History AP Exam a few hours previous to work. The test was fairly easy. I'd say I got a low 4, I can only hope. haha. Friday came. All I can remember was that it was a glorious day and we had an ROTC picnic outside, complete with rockwall, speedracer, and reps from the Army and Air Force :) It was great. Saturday I slept over Marisa's for Chelsea's Birthday. My baby girl's 16! and from Sunday until now, my week was a blur, except work.

Tonight, I have plans to hang out with Derek and Berg in Lewiston. It seems like it's been so long since it's been just "us" and I kind of miss Berg. She can be annoying as hell sometimes, but I love her so much. We plan to get chinese food and maybe we can go down to the docks while eating Hibbard's and watching the sunset. Summer is finally here and I am SO ready to own it.

Speaking of summer...Europe anyone? My host family has been found! They live in Germany and I should be recieving their profile in a few weeks! That tops the bill off at 5 (technically 6) countries! Every time I even think about that trip, it makes me want to wet my pants. I am so grateful for all the opportunities I have been blessed with. This trip means the world to me!

currently I am in Hampton, Virginia at Langely Air Force Base :) It's the best time of my life, seriously. I get my own room, can eat a gigantic meal for $2 and today, we are going to Virginia Beach :D Here's a taste of my daily schedule...
0600hrs- wake up call to "Taps" on the trumpet that will blow you out of your mind :)
0700hrs- Breakfast at Eagle Dining Hall, where the AF Enlisted treat you like princesses :) opening doors, getting your silverware and asking you how your trip is going. so cute!
0800hrs- room time. change, hang out, watch True Life on MTV...
0900hrs- leave. for tours, base time, beach, gym, etc,.
01300hrs- lunch with the beautiful soldiers ;D
01400hrs- room time, activity time, more tours, fieldtrips, etc,.
01600hrs- Star Spangled Banner over the loudspeaker. everyone must drop what they were doing and salute to the mainground flag. :D
01800hrs- dinnertime. <3<3<3
01900hrs- free time for the rest of the night :)
02200hrs- lights out. NOT! Airforce curfew. even though people are partying until 5. haha.

Tuesday- the 14 hour trek to Virginia. TORTURE.

Wednesday- craziest day ever. dressed up in our uniforms, toured the base, saw classified stuff!, learned how to assemble the engine of an F-22 Raptor, almost pulled 9Gs in an airtight chamber, learned flight stuff, saw the fire dept, toured the gym with the hottest AF dudes in it, went to the BX, where everything is HALF PRICE :) a tragedy happened yesterday. I'm not putting it on the internet though...played Ultimate Frisbee in the pouring rain, ate at make-your-own pizza night on the base, picked on Haley McNeely, watched all her youtube videos, watched Borat in Ted's room with a dozen people, made a Mighty Raptor Poster for the teachers, had a Raptor call, went to Danette's room to help her through her panic attack until quarter to midnight. hah. not really a panic attack, took a shower and went to bed. pretty much the best day ever! :D

my two best friends are in love, and are now dating, which is wearing on my nerves more than anyone can imagine.
Pit orchestra 6 hours a day-after school?! that makes 12 and a half hours total.

In other news- it's my 16th birthday on Friday, and I'm so busy, it doesn't look like I can do anything for the next couple of months, which SUCKS.
I haven't talked to one of my best friends in over a week because for some mysterious reason he won't answer my texts...?
all my mom does is watch American Idol and TLC all day and I can't stand it.
I have just been in the worst mood lately.
there's so much pressure and I know I can't handle it.

hi :)

I'm Shannon. I've had about a half dozen other blogspots in the past few years and I stop and restart new ones all the time. I'm not here to be poetic or whiney, just to recite important events and thoughts in my life.
In 5 days, I'll be sixteen, and I could really care less. although a permit and the option to legally donate blood have been in my dreams for years :) but, this age has opened a whole new world for me. I'm allowed to go places I've never gone before or do things I've never done and I am most definitely NOT afraid of taking risks. I also understand that being another year older means more responsibility. Bring it on.
This summer, I'll be spending three weeks in Europe. France, Austria, Italy, Switzerland. I can't stop thinking about it. I won't be with anyone I know. No classmates, no relatives, just a group of kids that I will be slightly aquainted with. I'm too excited to breathe. I don't think my parents know how appreciative I am. I thank God every night for the wonderful opportunities I am offered :)
I will also be taking part in teh French and Indian War re-enactment at our local Fort Niagara :D the Fort is seriously my life. I get to spend 3 days and nights with 5,000 other re-enactors. There's colonial dancing, pigroasts, Indian painting contests :D it's pure ecstasy. haha. The best part is that I get to share it with my sister, whom I love, even though she doesn't know it. haha.
My friends come from Boston, New York, and Texas to spend the summer up here and it's soo fun. This year we're planning to spend a LOT of our time in Canada on Clifton Hill and in Blasdell, where my some of my best friends ever live :)
